Happy Halloween!

Yesterday was our Halloween Party and First Talent Show of the year at the JOY Center.

The participants put together a 15 act show in which they performed for parents, siblings, and relatives.
Choreography and song selection was done by each performer. Acts included, dancing, rapping, gymnastics, freestyle, and plenty of beats!

The Halloween party, which is a great tradition at the center, went off without a hitch.
Kids brought costumes and spent the last two weeks transforming the center into a Halloween wonderland.
Activities included painting pumpkins, a pumpkin carving contest, roasting pumpkin seeds, making scary masks and much more!

The JOY center provided Hispanic food from our favorite neighborhood spot El Nuevo Amanecer Restaurant
(located at 117 Stanton corner of Essex) and plenty of candy from Economy Candy (108 Rivington Street).
Youth and family members were also able to decorate their own creepy cupcakes during the event.
